The pop-up hat and headnet is for use by travelers in tropical areas to help protect against biting insects and the diseases they transmit, such as malaria, dengue fever and filariasis. It is also ideal for outdoor activities such as walking or fishing, whenever biting insects are a nuisance. The hat and net fold down to fit into a simple pocket-sized stuff sack, and are available in three sizes – small, medium and large. When travelling in areas of tropical and sub-tropical central and south America (e.g. Brazil, Colombia, Panama and the Caribbean Islands), sub-Saharan Africa (e.g. Nigeria, Cameroon, Congo, Kenya and Tanzania), India and Pakistan, and south-east Asia, including Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia, combine the use of the mosquito head net with an insect repellent such as Repel 55 or Ecoguard, or, for severe conditions, Repel 100. In other areas where insects are a nuisance, consider using an insect repellent such as Ecoguard.
